The Andhra Pradesh police became the first state to complete automation of crime records bureau. They are using crime data analytics and big data applications to complete automation of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).
i-App cloud is now helping the police to access the entire information using big data of crimes under various IPC sections.
A.P. police collecting offline data from District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) and manually compiling them while preparing monthly statements.
Now the information is available at the touch of a button. Police can analyze trends in crime on mobile phones and computers. It helps the police to take necessary action.
“We began using i-App, a web-based application developed for tabs, mobile phones in 2016. Senior police officers have now a tool by which they can easily understand the crime patterns in each unit, compare the trends and take necessary action,” Additional Director-General of Police, AP-CID, P.V Sunil Kumar, told The Hindu on Tuesday.
The iApp cloud application can collect, store, process and retrieve data and generate reports every month. Data classified into 54 patterns of crime are analyzed in real time by senior officers.
