Delhi govt schools to have Happiness curriculum

Delhi is going to start a revolutionary program. Delhi govt schools to have Happiness curriculum starting on July 2.

Lakhs of Delhi government school students from nursery to Class VIII will be taught a ‘happiness curriculum’. The program will be launched by the Dalai Lama, said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

In a press conference, Manish Sisodia said that the Dalai Lama would launch the new initiative that focuses on holistic education.

The new curriculum will be rolled out to cover all government schools by the end of July.

Mr. Sisodia said the curriculum mainly focuses on meditation, moral teachings, and mental exercises, with the aim of turning students into good human beings.

Delhi government had sought and received the Centre’s permission to invite the Dalai Lama to the event.

If the project will succeed then other state governments may raise their interest towards this.
