Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has introduced a new course for this. The name of this course is MA Development Studies.
Development is a subject in every sector like corporations, governments, and NGOs. There are limited courses available in this field.
Most of the courses are provided by the private institutes and organizations. There is also limited seats available in this institutes.
There is a huge requirement of professionals for the development. IGNOU is leading the course and try to overcome the gaps between professionals and non-professionals.
The course is traditionally for two years. It can be extended up to five years for working professional. The course fee is Rs 4500. The mode is correspondence.
The eligibility criteria for this is at least graduation. Working professionals can also apply for this.
In the first year of this programmes, students will be introduced to the concept of development.
In the second year, learners will be introduced to an array of elective courses for specialization. It includes development science, self-governance, projects work among others. There will be total 36 credits awarded to the electives.
After successfully completing the course you are eligible for the government’s offices, corporate social responsibility (CSR) or carrier at an NGO etc.
