Truecaller that is currently looking for ways to strengthen its payment services in India announced it acquired Chillr– the countrys first multi-bank payments app.
Along with this deal, Truecaller Pay 2.0 app has also been announced. It is an updated version of Truecaller Pay and comes with some new features.
The workforce of Chillr will be absorbed by Truecaller. Also going ahead, the Chillr app will be phased out and there will be just one Truecaller Pay app. The company also plans to integrate Chillr features to the Truecaller Pay app.
The founders of Chillr, Sony Joy, Anoop Sankar, Mohamed Galib and Lishoy Bhaskaran will also be joining Truecaller. Sony Joy will be the vice president of Truecaller Pay. Truecaller aims to extend its Pay service to its over 150 million users and more than 300 existing partnerships in India.
